October Skincare Tip: Water & Hydration

Does skin care change with the season? Yes! (for some). When the cooler, drier air of Fall and Winter arrive, you may notice your skin becoming less hydrated and dull appearing. Fall is a great time to consider skin improving procedures while you’re not in the sun as often. A DiamondGlow is two treatments in one; exfoliating and extracting immediately followed with infusing a customized serum to meet your individual skin’s needs.

Avoid using high water temps during your facial cleanse, which can further dry out your skin, and adding a hydrator along with your moisturizer. Hyaluronic acids hold up to 1,000 times their molecular weight in water and are superb hydrators, adding your moisturizer atop the HA helps lock it all in!

Speaking of hyaluronic acid, as our body begins producing less of this substance over time, we may notice volume loss at our lips and cheeks, or sagging at the jowls. Introducing hyaluronic acid to these areas via injections (also known as fillers) can help to restore lost volume and add a plumper more hydrated result. A hyaluronic acid serum is also available to use during a DiamondGlow treatment.

Why did you want to become a Plastic Surgeon?

"Ultimately, I want to help people. It is very gratifying for me to help people achieve their goals and to improve their life in someway. I enjoy using my hands and I also have an appreciation for art. My father is an artist and I also went to high school for visual art. Plastic Surgery is a culmination of skills and artistry with the goal of helping people."

Of all the surgeries you perform, which is the most gratifying for you?

"This is a tough question, but I would have to say anywhere I can remove excess skin and tissue. I especially enjoy helping massive weight loss patients and patients whose bodies have been altered due to pregnancies and aging. Also a special place in my heart are breast reconstruction patients."

What does LOTUS mean to you?

As I’ve seen patients at various stages of their lives, I know that we can live up to our ultimate self. This is how the concept of LOTUS arose. Most of the times it is because we either lack knowledge or accountability to live out the ultimate self. This is a journey that I am on as well. I think with the knowledge and accountability and a community where we can support each other, we can bring out the best in one another to have the best life while on this planet.
