The weather’s heating up—and so are the results at Tuttle Plastic Surgery! Ever wondered if a breast lift might be right for you? Loosen those bra straps and read on!
As time goes by (and especially after kids), our bodies change—and breasts are no exception. Sagging, drooping, and a general lack of volume are common complaints. Many women describe their breasts as feeling “deflated” or needing to be lifted into a bra without actually filling it out. And let’s be honest—tight sports bras, uncomfortable swimsuits, and the dreaded side spillage are all too real.
Sound familiar? There’s a bra for that—sort of.
With over $50 billion in global revenue last year alone, the bra industry is booming—and it’s expected to double in the next decade. Promises of lift, support, and shaping abound, but bras can only do so much. When the breast shape and structure just aren’t there anymore, clothing becomes frustrating, and going braless? That often leads to skin irritation, rashes, and even infection.
There’s a surgery for that, too.
A breast lift (a.k.a. mastopexy) repositions your breasts higher on the chest by removing excess skin and reshaping the underlying tissue. If additional volume is desired, implants or fat grafting (using fat from another part of your body) can be added to boost fullness. The result? A perkier, more youthful contour that looks great with or without a bra.
Is a breast lift right for you?
If you’re nodding yes, it might be time to schedule a consultation with Dr. Tuttle. Breast lifts are generally safe and straightforward. If you’ve had prior breast surgery, there may be some added considerations, but Dr. Tuttle will guide you every step of the way. Before surgery, she recommends:
Being within 5–10% of your ideal weight
Avoiding smoking
Being current on your breast imaging
Bringing any records from prior breast surgeries

May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month
Skin cancer accounts for a large portion of plastic surgery reconstruction cases. While sun exposure has its perks, limiting it—especially during peak hours (10 AM to 2 PM in the Upper Midwest)—can significantly reduce your risk and help keep your skin looking youthful.
