What to Bring to Your Plastic Surgery Consultation
If you’ve been seriously considering plastic surgery, now is a wonderful time to take the next step: scheduling a consultation with Dr. Tuttle. This first meeting is all about gathering information, discussing your goals, and helping you feel confident and prepared. To make the most of your appointment, here’s a guide to what to bring and how to prepare.
Start by dressing comfortably. We recommend wearing clothing that’s easy to remove and put back on, as you’ll likely need to change during the visit.
Don’t forget your insurance card! Some procedures are covered by insurance when they serve a functional purpose—such as breast reduction for back pain or eyelid surgery that improves vision. If you think insurance might apply, it’s smart to check ahead of time with your plan to confirm whether Dr. Tuttle is an in-network provider. A quick call to your member services line can help you understand your coverage and avoid surprises.
If you’ve had previous surgeries, especially breast surgeries, bringing related medical records can be very helpful. These records provide valuable information that can assist in planning a safe and effective procedure.
We also encourage you to bring a clear understanding of your medical history. Be open and honest about any health conditions, past treatments, medications, or lifestyle habits such as smoking. Your safety is our top priority, and this information helps us tailor the best possible plan for you.
Come with an open mind. While you may have a specific procedure in mind, Dr. Tuttle may suggest approaches or techniques you hadn’t considered—recommendations based on experience, training, and what will help you achieve the best result.
If you’re considering an elective breast surgery, photos can be especially helpful. Bring examples of breast shapes or sizes you like—or even those you don’t like. These visuals give us insight into your preferences and can guide the surgical plan. And don’t worry if you don’t have these ready at your first visit; you’re welcome to bring them to a follow-up.
Bring your questions, too! Many of your concerns will be addressed during the consultation, but no question is too small. Whether you’re curious about recovery, time off work, restrictions, or the type of support you might need during healing, we’re here to provide the information you need to feel confident and prepared.
If you’re ready to move forward, having your digital planner or calendar handy will allow you to schedule surgery at your appointment.
Finally, bring your honesty. Throughout the consultation, Dr. Tuttle and her team will ask about your goals, health, and lifestyle. Your answers help us provide the best recommendations for your unique situation.
A few final tips:
Try to be at a stable, maintainable weight before your surgery, as major weight changes afterward can affect your long-term results. Similarly, if you’re planning to have children in the future, know that pregnancy can change surgical outcomes—something we’ll discuss during your visit.
We look forward to seeing you this summer and helping you take the next step on your journey.

Glow Safely this Summer
Plastic surgeons always emphasize the importance of skincare and sun protection, and as the days get longer and sunnier, it’s the perfect time to refresh your skincare routine. Here are our top tips to keep your skin healthy, radiant, and protected this June:
Prioritize SPF — daily!
Make sunscreen your best friend. Choose a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher and reapply every two hours when outdoors, especially if you’re sweating or swimming.
Lighten up your moisturizer
With warmer, humid air, you may not need heavy creams. Switch to a lightweight, hydrating lotion or gel-based moisturizer that won’t clog pores.
Exfoliate gently
Exfoliation helps clear away sweat, sunscreen buildup, and dead skin—but don’t overdo it. Aim for 1–2 times per week using a gentle scrub or enzyme exfoliant.
Hydrate from the inside out
Your skin reflects your hydration status. Increase your water intake, and consider adding foods with high water content
We’d love to see you soon—schedule your consultation and take the next step toward feeling your best!
